The Ideal Home Show in London ends on Sunday and this year’s event has not disappointed the thousands of visitors to Earls Court over the past couple of weeks. Well known celebrities like the green fingered Alan Titchmarsh, ‘Restoration Man’ George Clarke, flamboyant interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Gadget Show presenter Suzi Perry, foodie Gregg Wallace and household favourite Lorraine Kelly have been sharing their expertise and tips on how to improve the interior and exterior of your home. Prince Charles even made an appearance to open this annual event – the 103^rd of its kind!

We were particularly interested in the kitchen and bathroom section displaying high quality marble, ceramic and porcelain tiles. Although it might not feel like it yet, British Summer Time (BST) is fast approaching! It officially begins on Sunday 25^th March when the clocks are moved forward……. at 1.00 am to be precise. So unfortunately we’re all going to lose an hour’s sleep but on the plus side it is a Sunday, so many of us can afford stay in bed that little bit longer. Just remember to set the time on your clock before you nod off on Saturday night!

00:00 (Min:Sec) Make something to eat: If you’re going to make the most of this hour (that you haven’t actually got) then you are going to need plenty of energy. We suggest scrambled egg on toast as it has the perfect blend of carbohydrates and protein to keep you going.

12:30 Listen to some music: Hurry up, the clock is ticking. It took you twelve and a half minutes to make and consume your scrambled egg and toast. It wasn’t a bad effort to be fair but I felt the parsley sprinkled over the top was unnecessary. Now you’re going to listen to some music to really get you in the mood to do something constructive. But we don’t want you wasting any more precious time so we’ve called in the masters of the three minute pop song to supply the tune. John, Paul, George and Ringo, please take it away…….

15:30 Have a good tidy: A cluttered room is a cluttered mind as they say. So clear your home and your mind of all that unwanted rubbish. As your making your home spotless you’ll no doubt be thinking of ways you could improve your home decor. Maybe certain rooms remind you of DIY projects you never got round to completing. Don’t worry you’re not going to start them now! You’ve only got 44 minutes and 30 seconds left!

35:30 Get your thinking cap on: So you’ve had a really good tidy and your home is looking better already but you are still thinking of ways in which to improve your interior design. Are you going for wallpaper or paint or genuine wooden flooring opposed to carpet? Well I’m sorry to disappoint you but we can’t help you with these issues. The summer is not too far away. Below we take a look at two popular ways in which you can make the most of your time this summer in your home and garden.

Conservatory Comfort: What better place to relax in the height of summer than in your conservatory. Queen’s Diamond Jubilee: Queen Elizabeth II (pictured) will celebrate 60 years on the throne this year with an extended Bank Holiday, from the second to the fifth of June. What a great excuse then to invite your friends over to crown the day in style.

Euro 2012: Even if you have no interest in football whatsoever you may find it a rather difficult task to avoid it this summer. It is of course a year of a major tournament as Poland and Ukraine host Euro 2012. It all kicks off on June 8 with the final being held on July 1. Whether you’re just interested in your home nation or insist on watching every single group game and knock-out phase right up to and including the final you are sure to spend some of your time at home on the sofa this summer.

London Olympic Games: Unless you’ve been living in isolation, and experienced no contact with the outside world for the past seven years I’m pretty sure you will be fully aware that the Olympic Games are coming to London this summer. So as the greatest athletes from around the world, including Great Britain’s Jessica Ennis (pictured) compete for medals between July 27 and August 12, why don’t you get into the spirit by throwing your very own Olympic party?

Wow! What a weekend that was; St Patrick’s Day on Saturday and then Mother’s Day on Sunday. What was it then? Daryl Newland started up his own tiling business just over ten years ago and has been in the industry itself for nearly two decades.
