Day 28 of the Olympic Torch Relay: Alnwick to Newcastle upon Tyne
Friday, June 15th, 2012It is day 28 of the Olympic Torch’s 70 day relay around the UK ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Today the torch is on its way from Alnwick to Newcastle upon Tyne, passing through various places on this route including; Morpeth, Blyth and Whitley Bay.
The rainy weather hasn’t prevented the crowds from enjoying this historic occasion as the many lined the streets to see torch bearers holding the famous Olympic torch.

Today the Olympic torch is being carried from Stoke-on-Trent to Bolton by specified torch bearers. It is the 13th day of a 70 day journey which will see the torch pass through over 1,000 villages, towns and cities throughout the UK before making it back to London in time for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on July 27th.
Today the Olympic Torch is on day ten of its journey around the UK before it eventually arrives in London on July 27th in time for the opening ceremony. Today it will be travelling through Wales, between Aberystwyth and Bangor.
The Olympic torch is currently burning brightly in southwest England – somewhere between Gloucester and Worcester. This is the 6th day of the torch relay around the UK ahead of the Olympic Games in London. The torch will travel for 70 days before it finally arrives at the Olympic stadium in time for the opening ceremony on July 27th.
