How Is Stones Like Granite, Marble, Travertine Created In The Earth

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

Stones such as granite, marble, and travertine are some of the most popular and extensively used materials in construction industry. Of course these stones are created naturally due to the interaction of natural elements on the earth but designers also use artificial methods of creation in the laboratories for creation of these stones.

While collection of stones likes granite, marble, and travertine are made from respective stone quarries, most of them are in unusable shapes and sizes in construction industry. It is the team of experienced and efficient craftsmen that give these stones shapes and size from time to time making them excellent for use in construction works of different types.

Natural granite, marble, and travertine formed into usable blocks in construction industry are strong, resilient, and often stain proof. In result they constitute excellent products for both home and commercial constructions.

In addition the natural products like granite, marble, and travertine do not affect the environment as adversely as some other artificially created components in the construction industry and are therefore desirable on that account as well.

Enjoy the Summer in your Home and Garden

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

The summer is not too far away. Below we take a look at two popular ways in which you can make the most of your time this summer in your home and garden.

ConservatoryConservatory Comfort: What better place to relax in the height of summer than in your conservatory. There’s no wind to blow your newspaper out your hand, and you can still get the benefits of natural sunlight as it shines majestically through the glass panels to create a bright and warm environment in which to unwind. We all know that the sun isn’t always shining during a typical British summer so at least you’ll be fully protected for when the rain clouds do gather overhead. Tiles Porcelain Ltd has a wide selection of high quality natural stone tiles that are well suited to the floor of your conservatory. These include the Premium Silver Stone Travertine tiles (pictured below left) and the Moleanos Beige Limestone tiles (pictured below right).

Sizzling Barbecue: Australia has given the world the likes of Rolf barbecueHarris, Kylie Minogue and Peter Andre down the years but surely their greatest export has to be the Barbecue – or the ‘Barbie’ as they like to call it. I’m sure you have enjoyed many a fine summer evening around the barbecue with a drink in hand – trying not to give your guests food poisoning. A tiled outdoor patio is a safe and stylish place to hold a social gathering. Unlike wood decking and grass it is not flammable and as you can see from the Mint Fossil Sandstone tiles (pictured below) an outdoor patio can be used to stunning effect in your garden.

Continental Cafes with Travertine, Granite, Slate and Sandstone Tiles

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

Walk down any High Street in the UK today and you’re almost guaranteed to see a continental style cafe. Over the past 15 to 20 years there has been a huge influx of such establishments which are heavily influenced by Mediterranean culture and lifestyle. Many have even replaced traditional ‘Greasy spoons’ – with croissant’s and Panini’s now the alternatives to English breakfast’s and chip butties! Continental cafes invariably have both indoor and outdoor seating areas so that customers can enjoy the best of both worlds – unless it’s raining of course!

The decors of continental cafes in the UK have a heavy influence from countries such as Spain, France and Italy. This means that tiles are the number one – and in some cases the only – choice for walls, floors and exterior areas. Tiles Porcelain supply a quality range of natural stone Travertine, Granite, Slate and Sandstone tiles that are ideal for continental cafes. You can order samples of these tiles online or by ringing our sales team on 0191 378 38 96.
