Earthenware tiles are the ones that are most commonly used in the construction industry. Couple of reasons is that they look gorgeous and at the same time the prices are within the affordable limits of the average buyers. That is why it is the favorite of middle and lower income group of people.
Ceramic containing water absorption rates of over 10% is fired at temperature in the range of 9500-11500C to create the earthenware tiles. One of the greatest advantages of using them is that they are easy to work with as well as decorate.
Earthenware tiles are porous in nature and therefore can only be used for indoor purposes which mean they are not good for the roof or portico. They are however extensively used as glazed wall tiles.
Since these products are brittle in nature double firing technologies are used to make them stronger and resistant to external pressure. Going through the process the earthenware tiles gain durability and resilience.
