With the world coming into terms about the necessity of ecological balance and making the world greener, use of sustainable construction materials has become the order of the day in the construction industry. Most of the designers, architects, engineers, construction operators, and home owners are now looking forward to use of such materials in building and other construction.
An alternative side of this development is the gradual shelving of once highly popular wood materials in construction. Entire world has now come to realize the evil effects of indiscriminate tree felling that upsets the ecological balances and are causing numerous natural disasters to occur. Use of sustainable construction materials has gained importance on this count as well.
Basically use of the sustainable construction materials in construction work means those that are recyclable. Emphasis is now on engineered materials and even plant products like bamboo and others that are perfectly recyclable.
That does not mean that natural products cannot be sustainable construction materials. Natural materials like quartz, marble, and granite are available in abundance and their uses are not likely to have major impact on the ecological balance.
