Followers of golf would no doubt have been glued to their televisions over the weekend as likeable Irishman Darren Clarke won the first major of his career, by clinching the ‘The Open’ at Sandwich. With Clarke’s fellow countryman Rory McIlroy taking the golfing world by storm in recent months and Englishmen Luke Donald and Lee Westwood ranked at first and second in the world respectively, British golf is going through somewhat of a golden period.
