Ways of Tiling

Tiles are traditionally applied to a wall or floor in what is known as a grid pattern. This pattern ensures that all the grout lines meet so the they are formatted in straight lines. There are other patterns that can be used to good effect in certain areas. A popular method of tiling with blue tiles is something which is known as a running bond or ‘brick effect.’ This means that instead of the grout lines meeting to form a grid, tiles are applied in an alternate style. To emphasise this style a contrasting grout colour is often used. White or light grey grout is often chosen to complement blue tiles.
